Sen. Trillanes Apologetic To Senate Pres. Sotto, Other Senate Members Over Effect of Amnesty Revocation
TRILLANES – Senator Antonio Trillanes IV apologized to Senate President Vicente Sotto III and other Senate members amid the issue about his amnesty grant.
While the decision of the Supreme Court is being sought, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV chooses to stay under the custody of the Senate. His amnesty grant was recently revoked by Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The Senator is one of the staunch protesters under the administration of former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. In 2011, he was granted amnesty by then President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
In the Duterte Proclamation 572, it is stated that Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV failed to comply with the requirements for amnesty.
According to Malacañang, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, being a lawyer, also believes that the granting of amnesty is a “presidential prerogative”. The Palace stressed that the President cited that it should not be delegated to other officials.
The revocation of the amnesty of Sen. Antonio Trillanes gained different reactions from the people. There are those who believe that he is now a free man while there are those who support its revocation.
Pres. Duterte has decided to wait for the decision of the Supreme Court. The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police are also waiting for the verdict.

The former Navy lieutenant apologized to the Senate President and his fellow lawmakers over the effects of the supposed move to arrest him.
Outside the Senate, many of the supporters of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV are watching over the happenings.
Based on the report, they have carefully set their schedule to make sure that there is always someone who’s there watching. Prayer vigils are also being held.
