For years now, actress Angel Locsin has been on hiatus but broke it recently to support ABS-CBN amid the issues.
Recently, ABS-CBN made clarifications regarding the claims linked to the dispute within the Lopez family, stating they are misleading and part of ongoing “PR attacks” against the company.
The network clarified that there was a proposal to shut down the company raised by one director, but most of the board rejected it and chose to continue operations to protect employees and stakeholders. The rumors about the financial issues within the company are also false, and explained that the drop in the pension fund was mainly due to payouts to thousands of employees affected by the 2020 franchise loss.
There were past financial challenges, but despite this, ABS-CBN has steadily improved and remains committed to serving Filipinos. It added that the conflict is within the family and something that must not be publicized. Amid this, the company will continue to defend itself against misinformation.
To express her support for her former home network, the company that gave her immense success as an artist, multi-awarded actress Angel Locsin broke her hiatus again.
In an Instagram post, Angel shared her expression of loyalty and emotional connection to ABS-CBN. She may no longer be an employee and is not part of the Lopez family, but once a Kapamilya, always a Kapamilya. She identifies herself as a Kapamilya still, despite no longer working for the company.
“Hindi man Lopez ang apelyido ko—I may be retired and no longer an employee—pero ang puso ko, nandito pa rin. Titindig para sa ating pamilya,” she wrote. Despite being retired, she still has a deep sense of belonging and is willing to stand by the company during difficult times.
