FEDERALISM – Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III is disappointed over the controversial video of Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson and blogger Drew Olivar.

Currently, the push for the federalism type of government in the Philippines is ongoing. Lots of people including President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Sen. Koko Pimentel wanted to change the government type in the country from democratic to federal.

Based on a report, the 73-year-old President is set to approve the draft constitution in line with the pursuit of having a federal form of government in the country.

Recently, the Consultative Committee (ConCom) behind the draft has decided to seek the participation of PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson in the awareness campaign about federalism.

However, many were surprised by the recent video showing PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson and a blogger, Drew Olivar, that crossed the social media. It was posted amid the awareness campaign for federalism.

One of those who reacted to the controversial video is Sen. Koko Pimentel, a federalism advocate. Based on the social media post on Manila Bulletin News’ Twitter page, the former Senate President stated that he was wrong in thinking that PCOO Asec. Uson can help in raising awareness about federalism.
