Bagyong Basyang Latest Weather Update
The state weather bureau PAGASA has released the latest weather update regarding Bagyong Basyang on Wednesday (February 14, 2018).
On Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued the latest weather updates about Tropical Storm Sanba.
PAGASA reported that Basyang is expected to make a landfall over Southern Palawan after it was spotted at 255 km South of Cuyo, Palawan or 310 km West Southwest of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental (08.6 °N, 120.6 °E).
The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 60 kph moving West Southwest at 26 kph.
The areas of Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands were placed under tropical cyclone warning signal No. 1 due to the inclement weather brought by the weather disturbance.
In the next 24 hours, Palawan and Western Visayas are expected to experience scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains. While Visayas, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will have scattered moderate to heavy rains.
The weather agency also warned the public that sea travel over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and Palawan, the eastern seaboards of Central Luzon and of the Visayas and the eastern and western seaboards of Southern Luzon remains risky due to rough seas.
