ALEJANO – Magdalo Partylist Rep. Gary Alejano spoke his side regarding the move of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Roa Duterte to clean the Philippine National Police.
Since the election campaign, Pres. Duterte has been vocal about his desire to clean the Philippines from illegal drugs in case he would be seated in the highest post in the country.
Pres. Duterte won the presidential race versus four other strong and prominent presidential candidates – former Department of Interior and Local Gov’t Sec. Mar Roxas, former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, Sen. Grace Poe, and the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
The war on drugs campaign of the 71-year-old tough-talking President then started. He has always been vocal about his warnings to drug users and pushers.
Undeniably, lots of drug users and pushers surrendered to the authorities after the brave warning of Pres. Duterte. Reportedly, the former mayor of Davao City once expressed that he perhaps miscalculated the scale of the extent of the country’s drug problem.
Under the Duterte Administration, news reports regarding the surrender of drug users and as well as the discovery of illegal drug laboratories have been witnessed by people.
However, the country’s problem with drugs is really great. Nevertheless, the 71-year-old President expressed that there is no stepping back on it based on a previous news report.

Based on the news report, the 71-year-old President has come into the verdict of suspending the war against illegal drugs to put attention on cleaning the force of national police.
Magdalo Partylist Rep. Gary Alejano expressed his side regarding the move of the President.
“It is only after over 6,000 drug-related killings that they realized there are scalawags in the PNP – an issue that has been pestering the PNP organization since time immemorial,” Alejano said.
Furthermore, Alejano also expressed an encouragement to the victims of ‘flawed law enforcement’ to report to the authorities as it can help the move to clean the Philippine National Police.
