The fourth quarter SWS survey revealed that the public gave “good” net satisfaction ratings to key government agencies
The latest survey conducted by survey firm Social Weather Stations (SWS) shows that the key government institutions maintained a “good” net satisfaction ratings in the last three months of year 2016.
The survey was conducted from December 3 to 6 using face-to-face interviews among 1,500 respondents across the country with ±3 sampling margin of error and the results were released on December 29, Thursday.
According to the SWS’s latest poll, now leader of the Philippine government, President Rodrigo Duterte, earned a +32 net satisfaction rating in the latest survey with half of the respondents saying they were satisfied while there were 17 percent who were not satisfied.
The Cabinet of Duterte has maintained its “good” rating despite a drop of four points from its +36 net satisfaction rating last September.
According to the classification of SWS on net satisfaction ratings, +30 to +49 scores are within the bracket of “good”.
Meanwhile, the Senate also garnered a “good” +48 net satisfaction score. The poll found that 63 percent were satisfied with the performance of the Senate while 15 percent were not satisfied.
Fifty-two percent of the poll’s respondents said that they were satisfied with how the House of Representatives perform while 17 percent were not satisfied, giving the lower house of Congress a +36 net satisfaction rating.
The trend shows that the branches of the government close to President Duterte, the executive and the two chambers of the legislative, are also gaining advantage to the loyalty of Filipinos to the Chief Executive.
On the part of the judiciary, despite being independent of political alliance with Duterte, the Supreme Court got a “good” net satisfaction rating of +38 percent with 56 percent of the poll’s respondents saying that they were satisfied while 18 percent were not.
While the three branches of the government gained positive ratings, Vice President Leni Robredo had earlier suffered a significant fall in her satisfaction ratings after her resignation from the Duterte Cabinet.
In the SWS survey conducted on the same period, Robredo’s rating fell from +49 in September +37 in December, where 58 percent of the respondents said that they were satisfied with the performance of the vice president while 21 percent said they were not satisfied.
But despite the fall, the ratings of Robredo remains with the classification bracket “good”.
