New Yorkers expressed their message to Philippine Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte and to the Filipino people. They encouraged support for the President.
Recently, a video uploaded on YouTube entailed the message of the people in New York to Pres. Duterte who will be opening his home for the poor people this Christmas based on a previous news report and the Filipino populace.
In the video, an unnamed man first introduced that they were in front of the Philippine consulate in Manhattan to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas. He greeted the Filipino people and expressed his hope that the Filipinos will be united.
He further emphasized that it is not about the native dialects or the religion rather being true Filipinos who love the country. He expressed his hope that the Filipino people will support Pres. Duterte as this is the chance to have a merry Christmas.
“Sana [Hopefully} in the next six years, all the Christmas will be okay and we will celebrate it with peace and unity among Filipinos,” he added. It could be heard in the video that the New Yorkers were shouting ‘Duterte’.
The next person that appeared in the video is a woman who first greeted the Filipino people a merry Christmas and emphasized her shirt on the video. A ‘DU30’ is printed on the woman’s shirt.
She further expressed an encouragement of unity among the Filipino people and to give chance to Pres. Duterte to finish his six-year term in which he will change the country. The woman affirmed that the 71-year-old President is really doing his promise to the people – to ‘change’ the Philippines.
Also, the woman emphasized that their activity is a proof that not all the New Yorkers are against the Philippine President and that there are many of them who are at his back supporting his advocacy against drugs, criminality, and corruption.
Another woman has been interviewed next and she expressed that the President loves the Filipino people so much. Another woman expressed her wish for peace and as well as her support to Pres. Duterte.
Pres. Duterte is the 16th President of the Philippines. He secured the presidential position after a landslide victory in the 2016 national election.
He led the election race with the other presidential bets – former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas, Sen. Grace Poe, former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, and the late former Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
