Cassy Legaspi Finally Breaks Silence on Viral Foreigner Rumors in Siargao
CASSY LEGASPI – Kapuso actress Cassy Legaspi has finally addressed the rumors surrounding the foreigner she was seen with during a recent trip to Siargao.
The speculation began after a video clip of Cassy walking with a foreign man in the popular island destination went viral last month. The footage quickly sparked online discussions, with many netizens assuming that the mystery foreigner could be the actress’s boyfriend.
In a report by Nelson Canlas on “24 Oras” aired on Thursday, June 4, Cassy explained the real story behind the viral clip and clarified that there was nothing romantic going on between them.
According to the actress, the man seen with her was simply a friend who happened to accompany her while exploring the island. Since it was her first time visiting Siargao, Cassy wanted to make the most of her vacation by visiting different tourist spots and experiencing everything the destination had to offer.
“I’m willing to hit all the tourist spots sa Siargao because, again, I love Siargao. Sabi ko, ‘ano gagawin natin dito?’ ‘Skateboard tayo,’ ‘okay, ikaw muna,’ so my friend skateboarded first,” said Cassy.
She also shared a humorous account of how the viral moment happened.
“Ako, sabi ko, ‘sige upo muna ako’ and my friend, my friend sat beside me and I didn’t know na-picturan and na-videohan kami,” she recalled with a laugh.
The actress explained that she and her foreign friend were at the famous Malinao Bridge when they were spotted and recorded by onlookers. Unaware that the footage would later circulate online, they continued enjoying their day.
“And then eventually it was blown out of proportion na jowa ko siya or something, and honestly we just laughed about it kasi he’s just my friend,” Cassy added.
Following her clarification regarding the foreigner, Cassy also confirmed her current relationship status. The actress revealed that she is single at the moment, putting an end to speculations not only about the viral video but also about her love life.
With her statement, Cassy hopes to clear up misconceptions and remind everyone that not every public sighting automatically means romance.
