Empoy Marquez talked about the success ogf ‘Kita Kita’
Comedian Empoy Marquez, who starred in the movie ‘Kita-Kita’ with award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi in 2017, revealed that they received P1 million bonus for the success of their movie.
The newest session of Your Honor by Chariz Solomon and Buboy Villar with resource person Empoy was full of laughter and high blood pressure.
The comedian has been dubbed the “Ultimate leading man” in show business because of his beautiful leading ladies in the movie are countless.
Some of his previous onscreen partners were Maja Salvador, Cristine Reyes, and Alessandra de Rossi.
His and Alessandra’s love team was enjoyed by moviegoers when they starred in Kita-Kita, which grossed over Php 300 million. It is considered one of the highest grossing local independent films.
Because of this, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Empoy Marquez was asked if he expected to be called an “ultimate leading man.”
Actually, hindi e,” the comedian admitted. “Kasi nga nasanay ako talaga na sidekick ng mga big stars, ng bida. Pero ‘di ko talaga inaakala na magiging leading man ka balang araw. Kasi, sanay lang ako na ‘yung kasama lang sa grupo ganiyan,” he explained.
He also said that he never imagined that he would have his leading lady.
Due to the box office success of Kita-Kita, Vice Chair Buboy confirmed the rumors about the bonus that he and Alex received, and that it worth P1 million each.
“Oo, kasi hinarot lang ni Alex (Alessandra) si Kuya PJ (Piolo Pascual) na bonus. Sabi ni Alessandra, ‘baka naman tig one million lang. ‘Tapos after three days sa bangko namin nung pag-withdraw ko bakit may extra one M [million] na ganun.” Empoy revealed.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Empoy shared the strugggles he went through before achieving the success that he has now. Just like many showbiz personalites, he also had a humble beginning in the entretainment industry.
