Effective Tips For Starting Vehicle Drivers
Being a vehicle drivers has corresponding responsibilities in driving and maintaining their vehicle, here are some tips that can help beginners.
Owning a vehicle is not only about driving or maneuver the vehicle on the road but it also includes the proper maintenance. Being a responsible driver must learn how to maintain and check their vehicle especially the new drivers.
Here is some effective tip that might help beginning vehicle drivers along their travel on the road:
Changing Tire
- Park the vehicle on flat surface
- Prepare the lug wrench and jack
- Place the jack to the flat tire, while the other tire still contacts on the ground
- Use the jack to lift the vehicle
- Loosen the lug nuts in a counter-clockwise direction
- Remove the lug nuts first, then remove the tire and the wheel
- Grab the spare and replace flat tire, then the car should be lowered as it touches the ground
- Tighten the lug nuts using your hands in a clockwise direction
- Tighten the in a start pattern and tighten them as much as possible
- It is ready to use
Jump Start a Car
- Make sure that the battery is the problem
- If the lights and starter motor functions properly, battery is the actual problem
- Switch off the car, use jumper cables by placing the red clamp on the positive (+) terminal of the battery and the other red clamp on the jump car’s battery
- The black clamp on the negative (-) terminal of the good battery and the other black clamp to the unpainted steel surface of the car
- Start the car with the good battery then it will start the disabled vehicle
- Start the car and remove the cables
Check Tire Pressure
- Remove the valve stem cap
- Place the gauge to each tire
- Press the gauge flat over the valve system and start reading the tire pressure
- Add air and recheck pressure
- Check tire pressure once a month
Check Oil
- Warm the vehicle up to normal operating procedure
- Switch the engine off for 5-10 minutes
- Open the hood and check the oil using a dipstick
- Pull out the stick and determine the oil level
- If it is below the markings add oil until it reaches the normal oil level
Stuck in Mud or Sand
- Stop spinning the tires, it will only make a deeper hole
- Place something on the path of the wheels such as wood blocks, branches, or anything.
- Slowly run the vehicle until it fully get out of mud
