The Commission on Elections released an official statement regarding the latest buzz on social media after netizens shared their sentiments online when the popular KathNiel tandem posted selfies during the election proper. Kathryn Bernardo was even caught on camera wearing the popular baller of the Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo tandem.
According to Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon who came to the defense of the two celebrities, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s acts did not violate the secrecy of the ballot since the actors were not the ones who took the images.
It does not violate the secrecy of the ballot,” she told reporters.
The commissioner also blamed the media for putting the popular love team in such situation as she noted that the voter is not allowed to bring or use gadget, apparently media it was the media’s fault.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla openly campaign for Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo during various political sorties of the Liberal Party’s standard bearer, which was also supported by no less than the chief executive of the Philippines, President Benigno S. Aquino III.
