Though it was the first time that Coco Martin and Angel Locsin worked together, ABS-CBN’s Maalaala Mo Kaya gave way for the award-winning actors to top-bill special episode as tribute for the fallen 44.
The first episode which aired last night rolled social media with various reactions coming from netizens and viewers, earning the first episode with praises.
Twitter users showed their support and admiration to the acting prowess of the two actors and to the bravery of the slain SAF commandos with hashtag MMKFallen44.
Netizens also approved the ‘undeniable’ chemistry shown by two lead actors in the drama anthology.
The MMK Two-part special episode featured the story of Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF) operative Gary Eraña who was played by Martin and his fiancée played by Locsin.
The first episode gave the viewers the story about the blossoming love story of the two including the point where the SAF members were tasked to prepare for a deadly operation to haunt most wanted terrorist “Marwan”.
The next part of the episode will be aired next Saturday.
