MMDA: Number Coding Scheme Lifted on October 6, 2014 (Monday) for Eid Holiday

The Metropolitan Manila Authority (MMDA) announced that the Number Coding Scheme will be lifted on Monday, October 6, 2014 in celebration of the Eid al-Adha National Holiday which will be celebrated by Filipino Muslims in different parts of the Philippines.

Based upon the MMDA’s Number Coding Scheme, vehicles in Metro Manila with plate number ending in Number 1 and 2 will be allowed in various parts of Metro Manila during the national holiday, Eid al-Adha.

Vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2 may drive through Metro Manila’s major streets on Monday, Octoer 6, 2014, without getting flagged by traffic officers for violating the number coding scheme.

Based upon the number coding scheme, vehicles with plate number ending in 1 and 2 will not be allowed during Monday, 3 and 4 for Tuesday, 5 and 6 for Wednesday, 7 and 8 for Thursday, and 9 and 0 for Friday.

The Philippine national government, declared earlier that October 6, 2014 is a Regular National Holiday across the country in celebration of the Muslim’s Eid al-Adha or the end of the Hajj Pilgrimage. The celebration is also named by Muslims as their “Feast of Sacrifice.”
