Police Authorities Arrest Merchandiser For Allegedly Stealing Chocolates at Supermarket
A merchandiser has been arrested for allegedly stealing a chocolate at a supermarket in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Nowadays, robbery has been one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in various regions all around the world. Some criminals have no choice but to commit crimes due to lack of job opportunities.
The Philippine government is implementing stricter policy but the crimes continue to exist behind the knowledge of the authorities. The rate of criminality continue to increase despite the stricter rules and regulations due to poverty.
On Thursday evening (July 7, 2022), a 22-year-old merchandiser identified as Ronald Moveres has been arrested by the police authorities for allegedly stealing a bar of chocolate at a supermarket located in Barangay Zone 12 in Talisay City.
According to the Talisay City Police Station, Moveres is a resident of Calong-Calong, Zone 4, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City. The suspect is working as a merchandiser at Savemore Supermarket.
The authorities reported that the security guard at the store caught Moveres stealing six-packs of Hershey’s Cocoa Creations. The merchandiser placed the goods inside his jacket. The guard chased Ronald outside the store.
The guard informed his fellow security personnel about the incident and prevented the suspect to escape. The guards asked for a receipt but the latter failed to present any proof of purchase. The management immediately reported it to the police station.
Moveres reportedly stole chocolates worth P339.00, according to the police report. He will face charges of qualified theft.
