PAGASA Says ITCZ & Amihan to Bring Rainy Condition Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (November 24)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that cloudy to rainy conditions are expected over some parts of the country due to ITCZ and Amihan.

On Wednesday (November 24, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone and northeast monsoon would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA said that the northeast monsoon will bring Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon. The intertropical convergence zone would affect Mindanao.

“Sa kasalukuyan, ang tinatawag nating ITCZ ang nakakaapekto sa Mindanao, samantalang ang northeast monsoon ang umiiral sa northern at central Luzon. Ang tinatawag nating shear line o ‘yung dating tail-end ng frontal system ang nakakaapekto sa silangang bahagi ng hilagang Luzon,” PAGASA weather specialist Samuel Duran said.

Cloudy weather condition are expected over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, mainland Cagayan, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Leyte Provinces, , Caraga, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Leyte Provinces.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and of Central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country will experience similar weather condition due to the localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over northern and central Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the Philippines will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
