Facebook “Sellers” Post ‘Stolen’ MOA Globe On Marketplace W/ Hilarity

MOA GLOBE – After promotional stunt reveal, Facebook “sellers” post ‘stolen’ Mall Of Asia (MOA) Globe on Marketplace with hilarity.

The social media was abuzz over the weekend after a few media outlets reported that the iconic globe of SM Mall of Asia (MOA) was “stolen.” The gigantic metallic sculpture has been the symbol of the mall since it opened in 2006.

Netizens wonder how it was stolen considering it’s very huge and is standing in a public place. A Facebook user named Chester Tangonan shared a video of the globe being stolen by someone riding a red helicopter.

Initially, SM MOA said in a statement that they are working with the authorities over the incident. They wrote: “SM Mall of Asia is currently working with authorities in investigating the MOA Globe incident. With our security measures in place, rest assured that the SM Mall of Asia continues to be a safe space for your family and friends.”

It has been revealed that the supposed stolen globe was part of a promotional stunt for a movie. Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin took to social media to express her frustration over the real score of the globe.

Until now, netizens are still having fun with the promotional stunt. True to Filipino humor, they post selling the gigantic globe on Facebook Marketplace.

Netizens posted their “RFS” (reason for selling) on the social media platform, each one as creative as the other. One “seller” stated the obvious: “Tapos ng gamitin sa NETFLIX for Publicity Stunt.”

Meanwhile, another “seller” requested COD done via helicopter. Another netizen promised that the globe was only “slightly used.”
