Cebuana Single Mom to Represent Philippines in Tourism Ambassador Universe
A cebuana single mom was invited to represent Philippines to 2021 Mrs. Tourism Ambassador Universe beauty pageant in Malaysia.
A host and event organizer in Cebu received an invitation that he had been chosen to represent the Philippines in an international competition. She will be competing in the 2021 Mrs. Tourism Ambassador Universe contest in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, in February.
“It’s not too late. Happy ako na mga mga ‘Mrs.’ pageant na para sa mga hindi na ‘miss. Kaming mga ‘Mrs.’ na may confidence kami na sa amin lang, kaya gusto kong ma-inspire ang mga kapwa ko single mom na maging strong din, kagaya ko,” she said.
According to Bandera, Aida Patana, 47, has been supporting her five children alone for 14 years, and she has not sought help from her estranged husband. He also has four grandchildren who inspire her to persevere.

Contest national director Rodell Salvador said he chose Patana because of her determination and inherent strength as a woman. “Hindi tayo pupunta doon para mamasyal lang. Nandoon tayo para manalo, at mag-uwi ng korona,” Salvador said.
Salvador sent Myla Villagonzalo-Tsutaici to the first edition of the opening contest of the year, who was named Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International. In the 2021 competition, there will also be a category for gentlemen 30 to 50 years old, who will compete for the title of Mister Tourism Ambassador Universe.
Patana will be joined by Gerald Barbacena from Pasig City, who participated in the previous Mister Continental Philippines contest. Aida Patana, first runner-up in 2019 Mrs. World Philippines pageant held in Paris, France.
