Kris Bernal Share That She Went Depression When GMA 7 Did Not Renew Her Contract
Kapuso actress Kris Bernal shares experience that she went to depression when the GMA 7 network has refused to renew her career contract.
Recently, many were surprised after the Kapuso actress Kris Bernal’s guest on TV 5’s new morning talk show “Chika Besh” hosted by Pauleen Luna, Ria Atayde, and Pokwang that aired on September 14, 2020.
Kris has received various reactions to her guesting. But Kris admitted that she no longer has a contract with GMA Network because they have not renewed it, and he is no longer with GMA Artist Center, the talent-management arm of Kapuso Network.
The Kapuso actress admitted that she is sad because she thinks her showbiz career seems to end. Her contract with the Kapuso Network expired during the height of the pandemic, and because production was limited, the management did not give any project to her, based on the report of PEP.
Also, they have nothing to offer a regular show for her, but she said she has TV guesting just like “All-Out Sundays”, which will return to the studio this coming Sunday, September 27. She said she has a performance there. But when she was told that she might not have been renewed, she said she was very worried.
“Nagkaroon ako ng anxiety, lalo na noong malaman ko na wala na akong contract. Siyempre, hindi ko na ipinakita sa social media iyon,” actress said in an interview.
“May questions din ako na hindi kaya ayaw na ako ng network ko? May ganoon. Hindi kaya hindi na nila ako bibigyan ng show kaya wala na akong contract? May mga ganoon na akong questions in mind,” she admitted.

Kris also admits that she is worried about new artists as they quickly becoming famous. She also said that she thinks that those artists affected the closure of ABS-CBN may be given a better chance.
“May kaba ako, kasi ang dami nang bago ngayon. Ang bilis-bilis nilang sumikat. Ang iba, ang daming followers. Ang iba, ang taas sa social media na kailangan kong trabahuin. Kasi ako, TV actress pero kailangan ko pang i-work out ang social media ko.”
She further said, “May mga insecurities din ako. Saka, yun nga, nasa point ako na parang, ‘Sino ang may gusto sa akin? May sumusuporta pa ba sa akin? May questions din ako na, ‘Hindi kaya ayaw na ako ng network ko?’ May ganun. ‘
“Hindi kaya hindi na nila ako bibigyan ng show kaya wala na akong contract?’ May mga ganun na akong questions in mind,” Kris explained.
Kris has been a Kapuso for 13 years, so her fans are waiting for the future of the actress’ showbiz career in the next chapters. Even though she no longer has a contract with GMA-7, Kris Bernal is still considered a Kapuso.
The Kapuso people still report on him on various social media platforms. Many actors on GMA-7 have not returned to work since there was a community quarantine in March.
