Man Caught on CCTV Stealing Parked Motorcycle in Quezon City

CCTV Footage Leads to Arrest in Motorcycle Theft in Quezon City

A 29-year-old man was arrested after being caught on CCTV linked to the theft of a parked motorcycle in Quezon City.

On the morning of February 28, 2026, a CCTV along Champaca Street in Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City caught a motorcycle passing through the area with two men on board.

In another video, one of the suspects was seen crossing the street and approaching several parked motorcycles. After a few moments, he took one of the motorcycles and drove it away.

According to PLt. Col. Von Alejandrino, chief of the Talipapa Police Station, the victim had parked his motorcycle outside the company where he works. After about two hours, he returned to get food he had left inside the motorcycle’s utility box.

He was shocked when he learned that the motorcycle was already gone. It was later learned that the key had been left inserted in the ignition, making it easier for the suspects to take the vehicle.

After the incident was reported, police officers immediately conducted a follow-up operation. Through the CCTV footage, authorities identified one of the suspects with a visible tattoo on his hand. The suspect also had prior records, which helped police track him down quickly.

He was located in Barangay Bagbag in Novaliches, also in Quezon City. Authorities were able to recover the stolen motorcycle as well as the motorcycle initially used by the suspects.

The arrested man denied being involved despite the CCTV footage. Meanwhile, police continue to search for his accomplice, who was the one seen actually taking the motorcycle.

Authorities reminded the public to be extra careful when parking their vehicles, especially in dark or isolated areas, and to never leave keys unattended in the ignition.
