New COVID-19 Patient in Bacolod City Is Former Nurse Who Resigned from Work
NEW COVID-19 PATIENT IN BACOLOD – The new coronavirus patient in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental is a former nurse who has served as a frontliner in a checkpoint in the city.
One of the cities that is currently under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) is Bacolod City. It was from an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) before it imposed the GCQ starting May 1 upon the mandate of the national government.
Previously, it was suggested by the National Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 that the city can be under a GCQ beginning April 16. However, the Sangguniang Panlungsod appealed to the national government since new cases were recorded a few days before the initial expiry of the ECQ.
Starting June 1, Bacolod City is one of those cities that will adapt the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). Most parts of the country will be under the said quarantine measure.
However, the fight against COVID-19 spread is not yet over. Everyone must still not be complacent. Recently, a new COVID-19 patient in Bacolod City has added to the records becoming the 14th patient in the city.
Based on a report on Aksyon Radyo, the patient is a 36-year-old woman from Barangay Taculing. Lady Gles Gonzalez, the barangay captain, confirmed that the new COVID-19 patient in Bacolod is a former nurse frontliner. She is asymptomatic and is in a good condition.
According to the report, the Barangay Captain said that she has served as a frontliner in a checkpoint in the city but she resigned. Instead, she focused on her family’s business.
The business of the patient is selling goods from Cebu. The Barangay Captain said that the family is willing to cooperate with regards to the quarantine measures to be implemented to curb the spread of the disease.
