Cup of Joe Makes OPM History w/ Multo Streaming Surge
CUP OF JOE – A new streaming king has emerged as Cup of Joe’s Multo surpasses a long-standing OPM favorite on Spotify.
The milestones continue to pour in for Filipino band Cup of Joe as their breakout hit “Multo” achieves another historic feat in original Pilipino music (OPM).
As of publishing time, the song has reached 513 million plays on Spotify, officially becoming the most-streamed Filipino song on the global streaming platform. The achievement marks a defining moment not only for the band but also for the modern OPM scene, signaling the growing global reach of contemporary Filipino music.

Before “Multo” claimed the top spot, the record was held by Up Dharma Down’s 2012 track “Tadhana,” which currently stands just several thousand streams shy of 513 million plays. “Tadhana” recently surpassed the 500 million mark last month, a major milestone in itself. However, “Multo” accomplished the same feat in record time after its release in September 2024, making its rise even more remarkable.
Trailing behind both songs is Arthur Nery’s hit “Isa Lang,” which currently holds 444 million plays on Spotify, solidifying its place among the most-streamed Filipino tracks of all time.
“Tadhana” originally appeared on Up Dharma Down’s third studio album “Capacities.” It was also featured in the 2010 television series Ilumina, with the band’s former vocalist Armi Millare serving as the show’s theme music composer. The song later gained renewed popularity after being included in the soundtrack of the 2014 romantic film That Thing Called Tadhana and has since been covered by numerous artists.

Meanwhile, “Multo” served as the lead single from Cup of Joe’s debut album “Silakbo,” which was officially released in January 2025. The track earned Song of the Year honors at the inaugural Filipino Music Awards, while “Silakbo” took home Album of the Year. It was also featured in the series Ang Mutya ng Section E and continues to captivate listeners following the release of a stripped-down version for the romance film The Loved One.
Notably, with Viva Music Group’s 2022 acquisition of Terno Recordings—the label behind “Tadhana”—both chart-topping songs are now under Viva’s ownership, further highlighting the label’s strong presence in today’s OPM landscape.
