DOH: 982 Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus Recorded in Quezon City
DOH – The Department of Health confirmed that the coronavirus cases in Quezon City reached 982 now.
Currently, there is a huge fight for the Philippines to win – it is to contain the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19. Declared as pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), this disease was first recorded in Wuhan City, China.
It was in late December 2019 when reports about a mysterious disease infecting people in Wuhan came out. It was followed by an outbreak that urged the authorities to lock down the city for over two (2) months.
China has already lifted the travel restrictions in Wuhan. The country is now recovering from coronavirus which is challenging other countries now.
Philippines is one of the nations that recorded confirmed cases of the disease. One of the hardest-hit cities in the country is Quezon City.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that Quezon City coronavirus cases has reached 982 now. Out of the total, 72 coronavirus patients have already recovered.
Four (4) new deaths due to coronavirus were recently recorded in QC. It brings the total death toll to 79.
Based on the report, amid the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Quezon City now, the local government is implementing an extreme enhanced community quarantine in 31 barangays.
Out of the 982 cases recorded in the city, 812 of the patients got complete addresses in QC. A total of 661 cases as of this writing were validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit.
Currently, there is a total of 5,453 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Philippines according to DOH. The recoveries which is now at 353 went ahead of the death toll for the first time. 349 deaths were recorded.
