How true is it that Robin Padilla is negotiating with Pres. Duterte regarding the ABS-CBN franchise issue?
Action star Robin Padilla is allegedly negotiating with President Rodrigo Duterte regarding the ABS-CBN franchise issue.
Robin and his wife, It’s Showtime host Mariel Rodriguez Padilla, are currently under the management of the Kapamilya network.
Since ABS-CBN is facing the problem regarding the renewal of its franchise, various speculations arise.
The Congress froze the House Bill 4349 seeking to renew the legislative franchise of giant radio-television network ABS-CBN Corp. A lawmaker, who requested anonymity said that there is no use if they push the bill when Pres. Duterte will not sign it.
The President is vocal about his complaint against the TV network. Based on the report from Bandera, Duterte will not sign the bill unless ABS-CBN will compromise to the issues regarding the alleged debt.

Only 9 months are left before the ABS-CBN franchise issue will come to an end as its franchise will end on March 2020. There are only two possible results – the network will get the franchise or not.
One option that was laid before the network is to change the channel and collaborate with ZOE TV.

Amid this issue, according to the report, Robin Padilla is not mediating. It was said that he is negotiating with the President as he is known as an avid supporter of the current administration.
Based on the report, TV5 and GMA 7 already got their franchise back in February which will extend their operations for the next 25 years.
