The health department recorded more than 1,400 new cases of measles in the country in just 2 days.
According to the report, the DOH Epidemiology Bureau recorded from March 1 to 2 there were 1,411 new cases of measles.
The number of children who are contracted with the virus currently stands ar 16,349 since January 1 this year. The deaths due to the virus currently stand at 261.
Based on the report, DOH stated that this year’s cases of measles is much higher compared to last year. In fact, no one died last 2018 due to the viral infection.
Of the 14411 cases, DOH recorded that the CALABARZON (3,977), National Capital Region (3,617), and Central Luzon (2,331) has the most count of the cases.
