PAGASA Says Typhoon Nika to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Typhoon Nika will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (November 11, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Nika will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Nika has intensified into a typhoon with its center at 100 kilometers east southeast of Casiguran, Aurora. It has maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is moving west-northwestward at 20 kph.

PAGASA

Nika is set to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday afternoon or evening (November 12, 2024).

Meanwhile, another low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility developed into a tropical depression. It will be named “Ofel,” once it enters PAR on Tuesday (November 12, 2024).

“The TD is forecast to intensify into a severe tropical storm within the next 48 hours and may reach its peak intensity as a severe storm prior to landfall. However, the possibility of reaching typhoon category is not ruled out,” PAGASA said.

PAGASA

Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Storm Marce was located 3,575 km east of Central Luzon.

PAGASA

Various tropical cyclone wind signals were raised in several areas, according to PAGASA.
