Rita Daniela had the same experience with Yasmien Kurdi
Kapuso actress Yasmien Kurdi shared her reaction to the issue between singer-actress Rita Daniela and actor Archie Alemania.
To recall, Rita filed acts of lasciviousness complaint against Archie who allegedly kissed her without her permission. Reportedly, this happened after the thanksgiving party that Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo organized for her Widow’s War co-stars.
Rita and Archie chose not to speak about this and the legal battle has started. It was reported previously that the actor was already removed from the Kapuso primetime series, and Rita is no longer part of it.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Yasmien Kurdi was asked about the issue between Rita Daniela and Archie Alemania.
Years ago, Yasmien was in the same situation. She filed charges of acts of lasciviousness against actor Baron Geisler back in 2009. They worked together in the Kapuso series Suspetsa back then. She was just one of the many female celebrities who experienced “harassment” in the entertainment industry.
Yasmien said she understands the trauma that Rita feels because this was indeed a traumatic experience.
“Malungkot ako kapag nakakarinig ako ng mga ganung balita, kasi hindi siya maganda. Hindi siya maganda for both parties, maraming naaapektuhan na mga tao, masyadong mabigat yung issue,” the StarStruck alumna said.
She also shared that she was young when she went through that kind of experience and she was at work.
It was a difficult and heavy feeling for Yasmien. She had to go to hearings and sometimes that other party would not be there but she already exerted effort. The actress added that there were a lot of things going on at that time.
“Traumatic talaga siya, para sa akin… pag naaalala ko nga yan, tingnan mo, nanginginig po ako ngayon,” she shared. Until now, when she remembers that incident, that traumatic memory goes back to her.
When asked what she could advise Rita Daniela and other victims of harassment, Yasmien Kurdi was careful with her answer as she was not fully aware of what happened.
However, the actress said that those who experienced the same situation should not be afraid the speak. Yasmien said that it is better to avoid having conversations with “bastos” people. She also highlighted the importance of learning to say “no” and get out immediately from that kind of situation.
