School Officials Confiscates Balisong From Student Following Alleged Attempted Stabbing at Lucena City
A balisong was confiscated from a student at a high school in Lucena City, Quezon, following an alleged attempted stabbing involving another student.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the incident took place inside a Catholic school where a student allegedly tried to attack a fellow learner using the bladed weapon. School personnel were able to intervene before anyone was seriously harmed, and the balisong was immediately seized.
After the incident, school administrators reportedly called in the families of the students involved to discuss the matter and work toward resolving the situation. Authorities and school officials are also continuing to investigate the motive behind the alleged attack and gather more details about what happened.
The incident has raised concerns among parents and residents, especially since it came shortly after another reported incident involving violence inside a school campus in Lucena City.
Reports stated that on June 29, a Grade 11 student from Maryhill College in Barangay 5 allegedly survived an attempted stabbing by a fellow student who was also said to be carrying a balisong.
According to the victim’s family, they were shocked and deeply worried after learning about the incident.
The student reportedly fought back to protect himself and managed to escape without losing his life. The family later expressed concerns about school security after learning that the campus metal detector was reportedly not functioning on the day of the incident.
Because of this, the family is preparing to file a formal complaint against the school. They also plan to seek assistance from the Lucena City Police Station as they pursue accountability and push for stronger safety measures inside educational institutions.
