Business Couple in Valenzuela City Loses Nearly P80,000 to Riding-in-tandem Suspects

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, a business couple in Valenzuela City lost nearly P80,000 in cash after falling victim to riding-in-tandem suspects. The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. and was captured by both CCTV cameras in the area and the dashcam installed in the victims’ vehicle.
The video showed how the suspects quickly took advantage of a brief moment when the bag containing the money was left inside the car.
Aside from the cash, the stolen bag also contained vehicle and motorcycle keys, several bank cards, and the victim’s driver’s license. The loss created additional problems for the couple, who now have to replace important documents and personal belongings on top of recovering from the financial setback.
According to the victims, they had stopped by a roadside store for a short errand. Although the vehicle had initially been locked, it was reopened so a companion could get a measuring tool from inside. After the door was closed again, the suspects immediately made their move.
Video footage showed a motorcycle stopping in front of the parked vehicle. One of the passengers got off, checked the window, and discovered that the door was not locked. Within seconds, he opened the door, grabbed the bag, and fled.
Another motorcycle carrying two individuals was reportedly positioned nearby and appeared to serve as lookouts while the theft was taking place.
The victims only realized the bag was missing several minutes later when they returned to the vehicle and searched for it. The couple said the money had been earned through hard work and was intended for an important financial obligation.
The theft was immediately reported to the Valenzuela City Police. Authorities have launched an investigation and are carefully reviewing the available video footage while continuing manhunt operations to identify and arrest the suspects and any possible accomplices.
