Man Sought After Stealing Half Sack of Rice From Store

Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly took a half sack of rice from a neighborhood store in Barangay Mambugan, Antipolo City.

According to the store owner, the incident happened while her 17-year-old son was left in charge of watching the store. At the time, the teenager was reportedly resting and using his phone when the suspect arrived.

Security footage and witness accounts suggested that the man spent several moments observing the area before making his move. He appeared to be watching the surroundings and checking whether anyone was paying close attention to him.

The store owner explained that the rice had already been reserved and paid for by a customer. The half sack, weighing about 25 kilograms, was worth around P1,000. Because the order had already been settled, the loss created a problem for the business and for the customer expecting to receive the product.

After making sure the area was clear, the man allegedly picked up the sack of rice and carried it away. By the time the incident was noticed, he had already left the area.

The store owner expressed frustration over what happened, especially since the rice belonged to a customer who had already paid in advance. She said the incident not only caused financial loss but also created inconvenience for the business.

Authorities have since begun efforts to identify and locate the suspect. Investigators are reviewing available information and encouraging anyone who may recognize the man or have knowledge about the incident to come forward.

Authorities are urging the public to cooperate with the investigation and report any information that may help resolve the case.
