In a statement, one of the candidates of the MUPH 2026 pageant was disqualified.
MUPH 2026 – Was official contestant Imelda Schweighart dropped from the official list of candidates of the pageant this year?
Imelda Schweighart’s name has been removed from the official list of candidates for Miss Universe Philippines 2026. This was noticed by many people after the organization announced that one of its candidates for this year had been disqualified.
To recall, the 51 women competing for Miss Universe Philippines 2026 were presented at the City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque on February 16. Among the pageant veterans who joined this year’s edition are Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo, Miss Philippines Earth 2020 Roxie Baeyens, Miss Philippines Earth 2016 Imelda Schweighart, Apriel Smith, and Ysabella Ysmael.
In a statement, the MUPH organization announced that a delegate had been disallowed to continue in the competition. The organization stressed that they value “individuality and encourages each delegate to express herself authentically.”
“We remain committed to maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all — one that supports fellow delegates, honors our partners, and upholds the integrity of our organization,” MUPH said.
The statement issued stated that the unnamed candidate had been given verbal and written notice to address the situation at hand after receiving concerns involving this candidate.
However, despite the efforts, this candidate continued to do things not aligned with the standards the organization upholds. This has prompted them to drop her from the competition.
The organization reiterated its commitment to fostering an environment that is “uplifting, respectful, and empowering to women,” adding that it remains dedicated to ensuring the competition stays constructive and meaningful for everyone involved.
MUPH thanked the public for their understanding and support. While the organization did not name the contestant, Imelda Schweighart’s name was no longer in the list.
