Kris Aquino’s Malacañang Lunch with the Marcoses Gets People Talking
KRIS AQUINO – Social media buzzed after a glimpse of Kris Aquino preparing for a luncheon with the Marcos family surfaced online.
Celebrity hair and makeup artist Jonathan Velasco recently shared a glimpse of Kris Aquino getting ready for a special lunch meeting with Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. and Liza Araneta-Marcos at Malacañang Palace.
The clip, posted on Velasco’s Instagram account on Friday, March 13, showed Aquino calmly seated while her hair and makeup were being done. With her eyes closed, she appeared relaxed as Velasco worked on preparing her look for the highly talked-about gathering.

“A midday date at Malacañang with Madam Kris,” his post read.
The meeting between Aquino and the Marcos couple quickly caught public attention after news spread that they had shared lunch at Bahay Pangulo in Malacañang Park. The intimate gathering was reportedly arranged by fashion designer Michael Leyva, who is known to be a close friend of both Aquino and the First Lady.
According to Araneta-Marcos, the lunch served as a belated birthday celebration for Aquino, who recently turned 55. Reports stated that the get-together was meant to mark the occasion in a simple yet meaningful way.
The meeting also held deeper significance as it marked Aquino’s first return to Malacañang in a decade. The television personality has largely stayed away from public appearances as she continues to deal with multiple autoimmune diseases.
In the past, Aquino had strong ties to the presidential residence. She and her sons, Josh and Bimby, previously stayed at Bahay Pangulo during the presidency of her late brother, Benigno Noynoy Aquino III.
Beyond the personal aspect, the gathering also drew attention due to the historical connection between their families. Aquino is the youngest child of the late opposition leader Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino.
Corazon Aquino assumed the presidency after the fall of Ferdinand Marcos during the historic 1986 People Power Revolution.
Due to this background, the recent lunch between Kris Aquino and the Marcos family was widely regarded as a remarkable and symbolic moment in Philippine political and social history.
