Eric Quizon looked back to his father’s life
Actor-director Eric Quizon shared that he is planning to make his father Dolphy’s biopic, and this will focus on the King of Comedy’s last five weeks.
Dolphy passed away in 2012 at the age of 83 but his legacy continues to be remembered to this day. The late comedian had spent decades in the entertainment industry, providing entertainment and laughter in many households. His humor found a home in the hearts of many Filipinos.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Eric expressed how he wanted to honor his father.

Aside from being an actor, Eric Quizon is also a director, and he intended to dedicate a film for the one and only King of Comedy.
“I want to, I’ve been planning with Bibeth Orteza. So I asked Bibeth to… she wrote the book (Dolphy: Hindi Ko Ito Narating Mag-isa, 2008). Sinabi ko sa kanya, parang gusto kong encapsulated from the time he was brought to the hospital and until the time that he died,” the actor-director said during his interview on the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
For Eric, Dolphy’s last five weeks on earth will be a big part of the biopic project. He also said that it is good to discuss what the late Comedy King’s extended family went through.
“Parang marami hindi nakakaalam ‘yung ordeal ng family at that time and I think it’s a beautiful story because from the time I asked for prayers, parang nakinig ang buong Pilipinas,” Eric shared.

The actor-director also said that it was like a miracle and he would pray and his father got better. Because of that, their family had a great time and they were able to spend those precious last few days with their father.
He shared that they were all at the ICU with his other siblings, but only one was allowed to enter. However, the Makati Med’s administration can do nothing. “Nagkakantahan kami. May gitara ‘yung mga kapatid ko, walang magawa ‘yung mga doktor,” Eric Quizon said.
