Heart Evangelista expressed gratitude to her mother
Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista couldn’t help but get emotional when talking about her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco.
Heart started her career in the Philippine entertainment indystry at a young age. Throughout her journey, her parents were very supportive of her, especially her mom, who she considers her original manager
Even though their relationship went through a challenging time when Heart started her romance with her now husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, Heart was able to reconcile with her parents, and their bond even got stronger.
In a recent interview on the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Heart Evangelista shared that her mother was with her when she attended fashion weeks in Paris and Milan where she said she had many realizations.
The Kapuso actress admitted that Mrs. Ongpauco helped her a lot when she was going through something and lost her self-confidence.
“Mommy ko, of course, you know my mom. She was my original ‘momager.’ And I was really going through something in my life. I lost my confidence. And ‘yun nga, nalulunod ako sa mga naririnig ko,” Heart said.
She couldn’t work, and she had to because she was there to work. Heart was thankful that her mom was there, and would tell her, “Anak, gawin mo ‘to.’”
“So talagang siya ‘yung (nag-schedule), ‘Kailangan mo itong gawin, you have to do this, focus.’ To remind me of my worth. And it worked,” the actress-fashion icon said.
She said she is happy and grateful to the Lord because her mom really enjoyed being invited to the showrooms at Paris Fashion Week. It was a great time for the both of them.
Heart also revealed that there were times when they had misunderstandings when it came to her career. “Dragon kasi ‘yung mommy ko, eh. Pero ‘yun kasi ‘yung way niya ng pagmamahal. And looking back, I understand,” Heart Evangelista said, but stressed that she understands her mom now and what she would do to protect her daughter.
