US Secretary Of State Punch The Philippine President In An American TV Series “Madam Secretary”
The Philippine president was punched by the U.S Secretary of State in the video teaser for an American TV series “Madam Secretary.”
The 20-second teaser of the American TV series becomes controversial on a scene of the character of the U.S Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord to the actor who plays the role of a Philippine president.
The role of female U.S diplomat was played by the actress “Tea Leoni” and the role of a Philippine leader “Datu Andrada” was played by the actor Joel dela Fuente. The video teaser of the TV series shows the PH leader was together with the U.S Diplomat in a closed-door meeting.
The room seen in the video was quite similar to the Malacañang Palace, which also contains a Philippine flag and with a logo of the Office of the President in the backdrop. The actor who plays the role of being a Philippine president was also wearing a barong.
In the video, it can be seen that the Philippine president was punched by a female U.S secretary. “When a foreign leader crosses the line, the Secretary of State is forced into a break in diplomacy,” according to the teaser. “Madame Secretary” will be aired on March 12, 2017, on CBS network.
The Philippine embassy condemned Washington for the teaser and wrote to CBS corporation to express protests against the alleged “highly negative depiction” on the Philippine president. The embassy was disappointed on the remarks “Philippines’ unconventional new president” on the episode’s synopsis.
