Former actor Alvin Aragon defends his stance and mentions Gloc9, K Brosas, and Ian Veneracion for their parenting style.
In 2024, Gloc9 revealed his son is gay when he explained and shared the backstory of his 2012 hit song “Sirena.” This song has held a significant and more meaningful value to him because of this, and shared, “Hindi naman ako ma-showbiz and I think para sabihin ko ito now, ako ay proud na proud sa anak. Ako ay excited sa kung ano man ang kaya niyang ma-achieve sa buhay niya.”
The song is a gift for his child.
In 2020, actor Ian Veneracion openly talked about his lesbian child and openly showed, as well, his full support for whoever his child would want to be. He shared in an interview that his child doesn’t have to be apologetic to anyone, or even to him, for being truthful.
Comedienne and singer K Brosas is also loud and proud of her LGBT daughter. She always knew there was something her daughter was hiding from her, but she waited until she was ready to tell her. And when it finally happened, Brosas accepted her fully and unconditionally.
She shared, “Sabi ko ganito: nalaman ko na… Pero gusto kong malaman mo na alam ko na at bago ka pa magsalita, tanggap na tanggap kita mula puyo hanggang talampakan.”
In an interview with Alvin Aragon, he referred to LGBT parents and questioned their approach to raising their children. He said that openly accepting their LGBT children and being vocal and proud of them, in his view, does not align with the teachings of God.
According to him, it is not right that they were the first ones to clap for them and cheer for them when they decided to become someone who they were biologically born to be.
“Si Gloc9, tuwang-tuwa. Ginawan pa ng kanta yung anak niya. Yun ba kinalulugod ng Diyos? Palakpakan mo yung lalaki mong anak na ginawa Niya na nagpaka-bakla? Si K Brosas, tuwang-tuwa. Si Ian Veneracion, tuwang-tuwa. Tapos sino yung tumatayo kung ano ang tama sa mata ng Diyos na wag kang magpaka-bakla, kami ni Izzy, kami masama? Kamusta world?”
