On Monday, actress and beauty queen Michelle Dee filed a cyber libel complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against online influencer Xian Gaza and several Facebook pages. This move was prompted by the spread of false information about her.
Dee claimed that the influencer spread false and misleading allegations about her online. In her complaint, she included three other Facebook pages for the same accusations. She emphasized that being a public figure should not serve as a justification for tarnishing her reputation with false information.
To recall, the former driver of Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos accused her of torture and illegal detention, along with Ramos and beauty queen Samantha Panlilio. Dee, prior to this, had already filed a qualified theft complaint against the driver for allegedly stealing her ang pao that contained valuable items.
On Facebook, Gaza reacted to the complaint filed against him.
According to him, it was a “very strategic” and “good” move to divert the issue away from the issue with the driver, whom they allegedly tortured and detained illegally.
He added, “Because let’s be real, the threesome tsismis did not hurt her career at all. Ilang taon ng maingay yung issue na yan. Nakatulong pa nga sa kanya actually.”
For him, the truth is that her name was damaged because of the issue with the driver, and she now needed to file a case against him for damage control. At the same time, journalists, news agencies, and content creators who might post about her in the future will likely think twice, and it was a clear message for everyone that it was to protect her name and career.
