Viral Scuffle Between Security Guard and Student in Quezon, Palawan Allegedly Started Over Confiscated Vape
A security guard at Quezon National High School and a student reportedly wrestled outside the school over a confiscated vape.
The Facebook page 103.1 Brigada News FM – Palawan shared a video showing a security guard and a student grappling outside Quezon National High School in Quezon, Palawan. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to the local authorities, the incident reportedly began because of a confiscated vape that was being kept inside the school’s guard house. Initial findings revealed that the student involved was not a regular student at the school and had only gone there to deliver a module.
Barangay Community Organizer Ronelio Lago of Barangay Alfonso XIII explained that while waiting at the guard’s house, the student allegedly became curious about one of the vapes that had previously been confiscated from other students.
The student reportedly handled the device and even tried using it. When the security guard returned from a routine patrol around the campus, he allegedly caught the student in the act. Authorities said the student appeared to have been using the vape when he was confronted by the guard.
The authorities said that the student suddenly ran from the area in an attempt to avoid being stopped. The chase reportedly continued until the student climbed over a fence, leading to a physical struggle between him and the security guard outside the school premises.
However, authorities emphasized that the full story should be understood before making conclusions. Reports also stated that the student admitted his mistake during the investigation.
Meanwhile, the security guard maintained that he was only performing his duty and enforcing school rules.
School officials are expected to take further action regarding the matter. The school principal is set to call both the student and his parents for a meeting to discuss the incident and determine the proper steps moving forward.
