Anne Curtis, Nadine Lustre, and Bianca Gonzalez Speak Amid Alleged Flood Control Corruption

These are the statements of Anne Curtis, Nadine Lustre, and Bianca Gonzalez.

Famous female personalities Anne Curtis, Nadine Lustre, and Bianca Gonzalez speak about the rampant and blatant corruption in the country.

The House of Representatives is set to launch a full and transparent probe into alleged corruption, fund misuse, and poor performance in the government’s flood control program. This came after President Bongbong Marcos ordered that “even a whiff of corruption or abuse of power must not be ignored.”

More than PHP 500 billion has been allocated for flood management since 2022; however, several areas across the country remain submerged after every heavy rain. Several significant figures reacted to this corruption, and among them were female personalities Anne Curtis, Nadine Lustre, and Bianca Gonzalez.

Anne reacted, citing a viral from Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) that said: “Hindi na pala baha ang magpapalubog sa ating bayan kundi [kasakiman]. Sakit.”

She ended her post with the word, “Sakit.”

Nadine also reacted to the blatant corruption, saying it was just normal for people to react, since they have not been seeing improvement despite the “completed” plans. She’s been seeing people struggling, losing homes and loved ones, and many others, because there has never been any solution.

She added, “So I am not really very much updated on whatever it is that’s going on. I am, however, aware of, you know, the budget for flood. Pero yun nga, nakakainis talaga.”

Bianca, on the other hand, called out the lavish lifestyles of the kids of the alleged corrupt officials. Her social media feed showcased a life of luxury, while ordinary citizens toil and pay taxes—only to see their money allegedly diverted to purposes it was never meant for.

Meanwhile, the House committees on Public Accounts, Public Works and Highways, and Good Government and Public Accountability are to investigate the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and its contractors over the multi-billion-peso flood control projects that were flagged as either non-existent, defective, or grossly overpriced.
