Injured Motorcycle Rider Found w/ Illegal Drugs After Accident in Quezon City
An injured motorcycle rider was found with illegal drugs after being involved in a vehicular accident in Quezon City.
A motorcycle rider was involved in an accident on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City after being hit by another motorbike. The 32-year-old man suffered injuries and was thrown off his motorcycle. When police and rescuers arrived, they found him unconscious on the ground.
As officers prepared to take him to the hospital, they were surprised to find small sachets containing suspected illegal drugs inside his shorts. While lifting him into the ambulance, more sachets allegedly fell from his clothing.
Authorities later confirmed that the drugs weighed a total of 14 grams, with an estimated value of P95,200.
Police believe the rider may have been delivering the illegal substances when the accident happened. Further investigation revealed that he was known for selling drugs in areas such as Commonwealth, Holy Spirit, and other parts of Quezon City.
It was not his first encounter with the law, as records showed he had already been arrested twice before for drug-related offenses.
Once he was treated at the hospital, the suspect was taken into police custody. Still struggling to stand due to his injuries, he claimed he was innocent. According to him, he was on his way from Fairview to Batasan Hills when another motorcycle crashed into him.
The motorcycle rider insisted that he lost consciousness during the accident and was shocked to wake up and hear that drugs had been found on him.
“Binangga po ako ng nakasabayan kong motor. Nagulat na lang po ako, nawalan ako ng malay. Paggising ko, meron na silang nakuha sa akin. Hindi po sa akin ‘yun,” the suspect said.
Despite his claims, he now faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Authorities continue their investigation to determine the full details of the case.
