Woman in Ilocos Norte Stabbed by Neighbor After Requesting to Reduce Videoke Volume

A woman in Ilocos Norte was stabbed by her neighbor after she asked them to lower the volume of their videoke.

Dealing with noisy neighbors can lead to several problems that affect both your mental and physical well-being. One of the most common issues is disturbed sleep. Constant noise, especially at night, can make it hard to rest properly, leaving you tired and irritable the next day.

Living near noisy neighbors can also strain relationships. Frequent noise-related disputes may lead to tension or even arguments, making the environment uncomfortable for everyone. In some cases, legal action might be taken, which could involve fines or penalties for those causing the disturbance.

On Thursday (October 10, 2024), a 47-year-old woman from Barangay Calayab, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed by her neighbor. The incident happened around 1 a.m.

The incident started when the female victim approached her neighbor’s house, kindly asking them to lower the volume of their videoke music, which was disrupting the peace.

Instead of calmly addressing the request, the neighbor became angry, leading to a heated argument between the two. The suspect went off but returned shortly after, this time carrying a knife. Without warning, he stabbed the woman.
