After Gerald Sibayan tied the knot again, comedian-actress Aiai Delas Alas expressed this reaction to the report.
In 2024, comedian-actress Aiai Delas Alas revealed in an interview that she and Gerald have separated after 10 years of being together. According to her, he was no longer happy in their relationship and had cheated on her, something she initially chose to overlook.
This year, Aiai confirmed that they have officially divorced, and recently, months after their divorce, Sibayan tied the knot again in the US.
Sibayan and a certain Nadine got married in a civil wedding in San Francisco, California.
In an interview, Ai-Ai reacted to the news, saying she was no longer surprised because she had already seen it coming. According to her, Gerald needed to remain in the United States, which she believes may have been one of the reasons he decided to marry a US citizen.
“Alam naman natin na mangyayari yan. Expected ko na yan nung hiniwalayan niya ako. Kailangan niyang mag-stay sa Amerika kaya kailangan niyang magpakasal,” she said.
She also expressed hope that Gerald would not treat his new wife the same way she felt she was treated during their relationship. She even made a humorous remark about Gerald’s wedding attire, saying, “At least, naka-suit siya, hindi naka-polo lang.”
According to her, she has already moved on from their separation and no longer communicates with him directly. They have a middleman to deliver their messages to each other, particularly regarding the annulment of their marriage.
She also recalled that she had shouldered the expenses for their US divorce.
Despite everything that happened, Ai-Ai said she no longer holds bitterness toward Gerald. She explained that she had prepared herself for the possibility that their relationship might not last because of their age difference.
