Recently, the Bureau of Immigration claimed that Alice Guo has sent surrender feelers while she was in Indonesia. Based on a report on GMA News, BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) chief Renden Ryan Sy talked to the former Mayor after she was turned over by the Indonesian authorities in Indonesia.
“May mga tinanong din ako sa kanya kasi may mga gusto rin tayong malaman, ‘yun nga, sinabi niya na masaya raw siya na nasa kamay na natin. Kasi actually gusto na raw niya talagang sumuko sa amin,” Sy told Super Radyo dzBB.
According to the BI official, two (2) weeks ago when he was in Jakarta, someone contacted him and told him that Alice wanted to surrender. However, based on the report, the conversation was allegedly cut. He expressed that the former Mayor validated the call.
“May kumontak din po sa atin na sinasabi nga na gusto niyang sumuko, ni Alice, although naputol po ‘yung pag-uusap,” the BI FSU chief said.
Amid her claim that there is a death threat against her, the authorities assured Guo that they will protect her. Guo will be detained in the custodial room that was previously occupied by former senator Leila de Lima.
