Netizen Goes Viral for Posting Video of Neighbor Doing Swimming Technique in Floodwater
CAINTA, RIZAL – A netizen shared a hilarious video of their neighbor doing a swimming technique in floodwater.
X/Twitter user named Kim Angel Dumagan shared a video clip showing her neighbor doing the butterfly stroke in the midst of floodwater. The post immediately spread like wildfire online and elicited reactions from netizens.
The video, which was taken on July 24, 2024, captures the man gliding through the flood. The footage has gone viral for its unusual content.
Dumagan was initially out to check the extent of the flooding when she stumbled upon this surprising scene. According to her, the floodwaters in their area were already neck-deep, with some neighboring villages experiencing even higher levels of water.
Despite the severity of the flooding, the man’s choice of swimming technique stood out as a notable and rather humorous moment.
Cainta is known for being prone to flooding, and Dumagan mentioned that such conditions are not entirely new to the residents. They have experienced similar situations in the past, so they are somewhat accustomed to dealing with floods.
“Mababa kasi ang Cainta kaya mabilis talaga bahain. Okay naman po kami since hindi naman first time sa amin ang bahain nang gan’to,” Dumagan said.
The Department of Health has advised people to avoid lounging through floodwater and mud due to health risks such as leptospirosis. This bacterial infection can be contracted through contact with contaminated water and is a serious concern during flooding events.
