Earl, a regular user of the motorcycle ride-hailing service, was surprised when he encountered a rider with a helmet equipped with a built-in communication system. This feature allows for easy communication between the rider and passenger during the journey.
“I booked a ride home via Angkas and the kuya rider I booked has this helmet with microphone. I frequently use Angkas to get to any destination in the Metro because it’s convenient and cheap. But this was the first time I encountered a rider with a helmet with built-in comms system,” Earl said.
Earl’s attempt to capture a fun video took an embarrassing turn, leading to an unexpected communication mishap and an amusing anecdote to share. Excited about the novelty, he decided to capture a video to share with his friends and followers, unaware that the microphone was switched on.
“Apparently, it’s used for easy communication during a ride. I just thought it’s so cool. I was trying to take a snap vid so I can story it while saying ‘it’s britney b*tch!’ I forgot the mic wqs on and I only realized it when Kuya replied asking ‘ano po yun, sir?’ It was so embarrassing!,” he shared.
The rider displayed exceptional courtesy and understanding. Concerned for Earl’s well-being, he asked if everything was alright, assuming that Earl had something to say to him.
“Kuya was really courteous. He asked me if I was okay. He thought I was saying something to him. I just told him ‘ah kuya wala po. Sorry. Hindi ko alam gumagana pala yung mic.’ We just both laugh at it and he just continued driving silently throughout after it,” he added.
