On Thursday (June 29, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration releases latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that southwest Monsoon will be affecting Central and Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
Habagat will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Pangasinan. Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
The Habagat or Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over entire Visayas as well as the rest of the country.
The weather agency has warned public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that three to four tropical cyclones may develop and enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) next month.
“Pagsapit ng buwan ng Hulyo, posible po ang three to four na bagyo na papasok ng PAR. Posible itong mag landfall sa mainland Luzon o Eastern Visayas or mag enhance ng habagat,” Estareja said.
“For now, mataas ang tiyansa ng pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Mimaropa, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Metro Manila, at lalawigan ng Pangasinan dulot ng southwest monsoon. Asahan ang makulimlim na panahon sa umaga pa lang at mataas ang tiyansa ng light to moderate to at times heavy rains,” he added.
