The country’s weather bureau, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised the Public Storm Warning Signals in different provinces of Luzon due to Bagyong Lando as the tropical storm kept its strength as it neared Aurora provinces on Friday afternoon.
PAGASA already raised Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 in Metro Manila and the provinces of Cagayan, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, Rizal, Laguna, rest of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
Public Storm Warning Signal NO. 2 was raised in Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija and Northern Quezon including Polillo Island, PAGASA said.
According to PAGASA, Bagyong Lando is expected to make a landfall on Sunday morning over the Isabela-Aurora area. It packed maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 160 kph and continued to move west at 15 kph.
Bagyong Lando is expected to traverse Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Abra and Ilocos Norte before it heads towards Taiwan.
