Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Tawi-Tawi, April 13, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.3 magnitude quake in Tawi-Tawi today, Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Tawi-Tawi. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.3.
The earthquake that struck Tawi-Tawi, today, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 12:46 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Sapa-Sapa.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Tawi-Tawi was located at 02.41°North, 121.62°East – 332 km South 27° East of Sapa-sapa with a depth of focus of 036 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. No intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded by the quake-monitoring agency as per its release.
