Amid the issues of Bea Alonzo, Shirley Kuan revealed she felt “villainized” when the Kapuso actress made her do this.
Bea Alonzo’s former manager Shirley Kuan resigned from her post, and according to the star handler, the actress tapped film producer and festival director of CinePanalo Film Festival, Chris Cahilig, to serve as her interim manager, as her position remains empty.
Along with this announcement are some revelations. The talent manager broke her silence on the controversy surrounding her professional relationship, revealing that she initially agreed to remain quiet at the actress’ request amid her previous controversies.
She did, however; she was hurt by how she was portrayed amid the controversy and questioned why she continued to be viewed as the “villain.”
In the interview, Kuan explained that she had promised Alonzo that she would not speak about the situation. She apparently wanted to respect the actress’ wishes despite the public attention surrounding their relationship.
But keeping silent did not necessarily make the situation easier for Kuan. She said she felt “villainized,” particularly as public perception appeared to favor one side of the story. This was her main concern after everything.
“I promised her that I will not make another announcement about the resignation. But I said, one more, tirahin pa ako isa, you are giving me no choice but to defend myself… The least she could have done was to tell these people to stop. Because she knew the truth,” she said.
The latest revelations add another layer to the issue, as Kuan finally addressed why she chose not to immediately respond to the narratives surrounding their fallout.
“I did not take it against her, at the time that is how she felt. Pero nang natuloy na — why am I still the villain. Wala naman ako ginawa. Finally, daw natuloy kasi hindi na nakialam si SK. Ginawa ako kontrabida,” she went on.
