Alan Peter Cayetano explained what happened to P10K “ayuda”

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano blamed President Bongbong Marcos for the failure or P10,000 “ayuda.”

Cayetano received criticism when he promised that every Filipino family will received cash aid at the time of the pandemic. This was intended to help families rise again after the financial setback that many had experienced.

When this promise was fulfilled, in every issue and in every possible instance, the public would slam the lawmaker for the unfulfilled promise.

In a livestream on July 17, based on the article in Bandera, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano talked about the “ayuda” that the Filipino families did not receive.

The Senator explained that this proposal did not push through because allegedly, President Bongbong Marcos oppossed. Cayetano said that the budget was already allotted for the P10,000 cash aid, and that it will be given in half.

“Nagkaroon tayo ng package: yung Bayanihan 1, P10K po yun, two gives of P5K. So noong 2021, going into 2022, sabi ko marami pang hindi nakaka-recover, so kaya ng ating budget magbigay. Pero pagkapanalo ni Pres. Marcos, ayaw niya,” Cayetano claimed.

The Senator aired his greivances regarding this issue amid the discussion about the government’s cash assistance for the sectors that are in need, especially those who are greatly affected by the war in the Middle East.

As of this writing, the Malacanang Palace has yet to release a statement on this allegation from the Senator.

Based on reports, Cayetano is now facing accusations regarding the alleged anomaly in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has started investigating this matter.
