PNP Arrest 2 Minors in Tacloban City School Shooting
Two minor suspects have been arrested over shooting incident inside San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
On Monday morning, June 22, 2026. the Philippine National Police confirmed that both suspects are minors and were quickly tracked down after the incident. One of them was caught inside the school groundswhile the other was arrested during a hot pursuit operation carried out by responding officers.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. while classes were ongoing. Gunshots suddenly rang out inside the campus, causing panic among students and teachers who rushed to safety. Some students helped carry the injured classmates out of the area as confusion spread throughout the school.
Police said the shooting resulted in the deaths of three students, while five others sustained injuries and were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims as families are still being notified.
At present, investigators are still working to establish the motive behind the attack. Officials also said they are looking into the background of both suspects and their possible connection to the victims. So far, no clear reason has been confirmed.
